As we know it, exercises come in many forms to satisfy both type of people which are those who enjoy indoor exercise and those who love outdoor exercise. No matter what category one falls in, the benefits ripped from exercising at least 30 minutes per day and at least twice a week pays its justice. Now lets take our mind up to a another notch, boating. We often do this as a regular camping activity or once in a blue moon vacation with the family but there is more than what meets the eye; boating is the new trend as an exercise to build and tone up your muscles so gentlemen read on!!

Boating is a vigorous activity if you look at it as it involves paddling and most of the upper body is at work. Paddling comes in four ways; catch, pull, finish and reach. All of these methods of paddling needs enormous effort at the shoulder and arm region hence more working and stretching of muscles here. The best outcome can be seen if this exercise is performed weekly for 6 good months. Boating does require long term commitment. Even Vince Delmonte mention about best exercise for building muscles in his no nonsense muscle building program.
All the pulling and pushing the paddle against the water current, along with the weight of the paddle, aids the biceps and triceps along with the shoulder muscles to work up simultaneously. However for precautionary measures, before committing into this exercise, its best if one warm up by performing several cardiovascular exercises to strengthen the heart and lung capacity to engage in such strenuous activity, in the mean time to engage in a long tiring episode of paddling. Last but not least, as mentioned before, the upper body is fully engaged while boating and this adds benefit in the abdomen region.
